What the app does
El Niño turns public data about the Pacific warming and cooling cycle, called ENSO, into maps, charts, a score, and explanations. It is not an official declaration, forecast, warning, emergency alert, or professional advice.
One-time purchase
You pay once in the App Store. There is no subscription, recurring charge, free trial, or paid upgrade inside the app.
Do not rely on it for important decisions
Do not use El Niño as your only source for decisions about safety, money, investing, insurance, farming, flying, boating, law, emergencies, or other work where getting it wrong could cause harm. Use official agencies, local services, and qualified professionals.
Public data can change or fail
Climate data can arrive late, be corrected, go offline, or be read differently by official agencies. Internet requests can also fail. The app's summaries, score, maps, charts, exports, and shared images may be incomplete or wrong.
Independent app
El Niño is independent. It is not part of, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by NOAA or any other government agency.
Use the app responsibly
Do not misuse the app, interfere with its data sources, remove source credit from exports, or present its output as official government guidance. Do not take apart or copy the app's inner workings (reverse engineer it) where the law prohibits it.
Ownership
The app's design, original text, icons, presentation, and code that is not publicly available belong to the developer or are used with permission. Public climate data follows the rules of the service that provides it.
No warranties
The app is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, the developer does not promise that it will always be accurate, available, suitable for a particular purpose, or free from claims that it violates someone else's rights.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the developer is not responsible for losses caused by using the app, being unable to use it, or relying on its output.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the app changes. The latest version will be posted at this URL.
